Filipino President Fidel V. Ramos personally confers the “Presidential Kaanib Award” to Tsakos Shipping and Trading S.A as recognition of the company’s pioneering effort in employing Filipino seafarers and for improving the status of the maritime profession and industry in the Philippines. The company is acknowledged as a founder and major benefactor of important maritime training schools .
